Centrally located colonial style bungalow with large lawns, genuine hospitality and budget rates
A colonial bungalow with large lawns and spacious rooms in a superb location at budget rates. It sounds like a fairy tale but at a Home Away from Home, a Jaipur budget heritage hotel, it’s the truth. Built by the current owner Ketaki Singh’s grandfather General K Umrao Singh, this fabulous hotel in Jaipur right at the heart of the city was designed by a French architect. Today this lovely hotel in Jaipur is a popular Bed and Breakfast among those who know of this hidden gem.
This Bungalow, now a Jaipur budget heritage hotel, is only 6 kms from the most famous sights of Jaipur, City Palace and Hawa Mahal. It is walking distance from Anokhi, the popular textile store with a lovely café inside.
The sprawling bungalow has 11 guest rooms with ensuite bathrooms. Our favourite rooms were those with views of the green lawns. The rooms are well kept with simple furnishings. Each room is styled with colourful coordinated bed covers and curtains in this Jaipur budget heritage hotel. Air conditioning for the summers and heaters for the winter are provided along with a safe in all rooms. The bathrooms in this Jaipur budget heritage hotel are simple and clean with modern fittings but not luxurious. The lounge and dining area on the first floor is an airy, light filled space decorated in blue and white. Terraces with garden furniture flank this area on either side. Guests are often to be found on the terraces enjoying the sun while reading or checking emails. At this Jaipur budget heritage hotel, Wi-Fi is complimentary for all guests.
Breakfast is served at fixed times in the dining area. Lunch and dinner is available on prior order. They offer only Indian cuisine for lunch and dinner but it’s very good. Ketaki, the warm and smiling host lives in the house with her family and is usually around to offer sightseeing and shopping recommendations. The staff at this hotel in Jaipur is well trained and hospitable. There are two friendly dogs on the premises.
